The CSP has put out a call for motions for this year’s Annual Representative Conference (ARC), and we thought we would collate thoughts around what the wider membership would like to bring forth as motions at ARC this year. The Annual Representative Conference (ARC) is an opportunity for members of the CSP to meet and debate and discuss matter of importance and influence the trajectory of the CSP, but also for members to table motions.

Motions are a form of word proposing an action or policy to the CSP Council, and have influenced changes in the profession and CSP, such as non-medical prescribing, improving equity, etc. While not mandatory to be taken up by council, it puts an issue of interest on the radar of the council, and all approved motions need to be reviewed and fed back by the council. You can find out more details and past motions here.

An example of the difference made to ACPOPC members from ARC 2025 are the creation of guidance for CSP members around assisted dying (just published, see ACPOPC website), as well as a commitment to map and recognise the development of careers beyond just the clinical domain.

As a professional network, members of the ACPOPC committee attend ARC, and can submit and vote on motions. We would like to take this opportunity to ask you, as members of the network, whether there are any topics that you would like ACPOPC to raise at ARC. Please fill this form in: Suggestions for ARC Motion Form – Fill in form

We will close this form on the 31 January 2026, to give us enough time to clarify any motions of interest to us and develop this into a full motion, before the final closing date by the CSP of 19 Feb 2026.
